Bluetooth

liveVoyager allows user to easily setup a connection with Bluetooth protocol. By default there are many packages installed for this connection type:

  • bluez: system tools and daemons to use Bluetooth devices
  • bluez-alsa : driver that run with ALSA
  • bluez-cups : driver that allosw user to print with devices connected via Bluetooth with CUPS
  • blueman : that allows acces to graphical setting interface
  • obex-data-server
  • libbluetooth3
  • libgnome-bluetooth7
To access to Blueman, follow this path:

Main Menu → Settings → Bluetooth manager

To setup a Bluetooth connection it's necessary that the device is turned on, and has the Bluetooth connection enabled. We will connect a mobile phone.
It's also necessary having a plugged in USB Bluetooth adapter.

  1. Run Blueman, and click on the search button, or by the 'File' menu, click on 'Find' item in it

  2. Once device is found

    add it to known devices, to avoid to setup the connection every time. Click on green cross to do so.

  3. Then setup the device clicking on relative button

    *

  4. The setup wizard will open, so you can set a random password, a personal password, or if you don't want to merge the device. In our case, we have chosen to use a personal password. Put it and click on "Next"

  5. The device ask for put in the same password. You have 10 seconds no more. Put the password in as fast as possible and the device will be merged.
    Now you can choose if connect with the device or not. Click on 'Next'

  6. If you want to connect, a new window warn you about that the device is correctly merged.

To disconnect, just right click on the device and click on "Disconnect device".
To disable Bluetooth, right click on the icon placed on systray, and click on "Disable Bluetooth".
