Users and Groups

liveVoyager create an user at the moment of system installation, also giving it a password for root privileges, in order to administering the system itself. However it's possible to enable other users, setting up the groups, and more.
To modify user set-up, to create other users, or to delete them, go to:

Main Menu → System → Users and Groups

In this window you can apply many changes. Start to edit user set-up.

You can change its name, clicking on "Change..." item. In the next window, add the preferred name, then click on OK.

You can change also the account type. By default the user has a customized account, without specific privileges nor specific restrictions, but you can change this according to specific needs.

Remember that giving to the user root privileges could damage the system, especially if the user is a Linux beginner

You can also change user password. To do that click on "Change..." near "Password" item. To apply this change, it's necessary the root password. In the next window you must type the current password, then you can type your preferred password.
You can also set-up session log-in without password, just selecting this option.

You can change user group(s), in order to enable it to resources, and functions usually not enabled after a new system installation. Just click on "Manage Groups" to access the window shown below. In it you can select whatever you want, but do it carefully.

Finally you can add new users. Just click on "Add" button, type root password to access in the window where you can add new user's userID. Use a complete name, and one more short.

Once done click on "OK". In the new window type twice the new user password.
